I just wanted to say thank you to ESLwatch and all the people who took the time fromn the below links to collect and list the bad apple employers and shady recruiters that feed upon the gullibility and naivte of new teacher arrivals to China. Without you guys we might all fall for the BS sppon-fed to us by smooth-talking recruiters including the dozen or so that hide at eslcafe.com, eslteachercafe.com, and other expat forums pretending to be "fellow teachers". My roomie just went through hell and back because of a single recruiter who refused to tell her the truth about China visa laws. She was a studiying for her MBA at Peking University on a scholaship and was talked into teaching by an untehcal recruiter who said it was legal for her to work part time as a tutor on an X visa. In truth, it is illegal and my roomie was arrested and jailed for 17 days. Even after she agreed to pay a $2,000 fine she was just deported and cannot return to finish he last 7 months of study at PKU. She is not even allowed to come back to China for the next three years! The recruiter was blacklisted at both CFTU and Eslwatch. This is why the below links need to be in the hands of every foreigner coming to China. Those of you who agree with me, please share this link and the below list with all your teaching colleagues
